The Port Authorities of Lindos and Rhodes were informed on Thursday afternoon about the existence of a sufficient number of foreigners in the port of Lindos.

Officials of the Port Authority of Lindos immediately went to the area from land, where they located one (01) T/X tender type vessel with five (05) foreigners and their 31-year-old foreign trafficker. Then, patrol boat L.S. – EL. AKT. who was carrying out a planned patrol, went to the spot and found three (03) foreign traffickers, aged 34, 33 and 36, on a speed boat.

In a further check, carried out in the wider area of ​​Lindos, by officials of the relevant Port Authority, with the assistance of officials and the Special Missions Echelon of the Port Authority of Rhodes, an additional thirty-three (33) foreigners were identified. A total of thirty-eight (38) foreigners (26 men, 10 women and 02 girls) were identified.

The Central Port Authority of Rhodes, which conducts the preliminary investigation, arrested the above four (04) traffickers, while the aforementioned and another I/F vessel were confiscated.

The Maritime Border Security and Protection Directorate, in collaboration with the Port Authority of Rhodes, analyzes and processes in depth all the evidence that has emerged and investigates the possible participation of those arrested in other cases, as well as their collaboration with members of organized circles with the same or similar criminal activities.
