The president of the Union of Police Employees, Manolis Androulakis, denounces the serious shortages in structures and personnel on the island in combination with the continuous increase of immigrants on the island
Out of control is now the situation at Rose due to the constant arrivals of immigrants combined with the serious lack of structures and personnel on the island, as the president of the Union of Police Employees complains to SKAI, Manolis Androulakis.
“We have daily arrivals of immigrants occupying spaces in the center of the city of Rhodes, where the police department they serve is located, in parks, in order to be transferred to various accommodation facilities” stated Mr. Androulakis speaking to SKAI on the show “Mismatches”.
As he complained, the problem is magnified by the large increase in immigrants while the structures in Leros and Kos are full.
“There are no structures in the area. We find it difficult to serve them” he said and added: “There are transfers to Leros and Kos every day, but the problem is so great that neither the police nor the port authorities are sufficient.”
