The Pan-Hellenic Federation of Editors’ Unions and its Associations of Editors (ESIEA-EPAIMTH-EPEP-ESTATE-ESPET) participate in a 4-hour workstation from 11:00 to 15:00 on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in the 24-hour nationwide strike.
The announcement
“Employees in the press and media are joining our voice with workers across the country against government policies that lead to further flexibility of labor relations and shrinking the rights won by struggles.
Employees in the press, with their already exterminating hours and increasing intensification of our work, say “NO at 13 hours” and emphasize that we are not consumable and the time of our work is not a commodity without limits and unconditional.
This new blow to labor rights is added to the continued refusal by employers’ organizations to even take a dialogue on the preparation of collective employment contracts in the private sector. A refusal that results in underlying employees, hostages of individual contracts, where the law of the powerful prevails. Also, no measures are taken to deal with the deregulation of labor relations and collective labor law.
At the same time, not only the media workers, but also the whole of Greek society, are experiencing a number of successive explosive increases, which create a suffocating situation for workers who see their income and resources virtually disappear, without taking any measures to deal with precision.
We are protesting our protest over the ongoing and ever -increasing pressure against journalism and journalists and ultimately at the expense of reliable and free information, which is a cornerstone of democratic functioning.
We claim:
BSE in all media in the private sector and immediate and substantial increases in nominal wages and pensions. It is noted that in the EU Directive, Member States are called upon to reinforce collective agreements to cover 80% of employees.
Effective measures to tackle accuracy substantial and effective measures to deal with unemployment.
National and European support measures to protect income and jobs in the private sector.
Information with reliability and pluralism.
* The four -hour stoppage excludes colleagues who cover strike rallies across the country, in which we invite colleagues to participate in mass. “
