Doctors and nurses participate in 24 hour strike that ADEDY has announced for tomorrow with a request to withdraw the draft labor law.

The Federation of Associations of Hospital Doctors of Greece (OENGE) calls for the withdrawal of the bill, which it characterizes as “an anti-labor measure that abolishes the five-day and 8-hour day, legislating the right for employers to wean employees for as long as they want, when and whenever they want”. He notes that it “makes labor relations even more elastic and increases intensification”.

The Panhellenic Federation of Employees in Public Hospitals (POEDIN) states that “the bill establishes provisions that abolish the 8-hour, five-day work and criminalize union activity” and requests its withdrawal. According to POEDIN, contract workers work in Hospitals with “working conditions reminiscent of the Middle Ages. Contractors who cost the State much more money than the employment of permanent or even contract workers”. The Federation calls for the expulsion of the contractors and the hiring of contractors in the support services.
