Targeted police actions were carried out throughout the territory between September 19-20, as part of the implementation of the Strategic Planning of the Hellenic Police Headquarters to deal with crime and improve the level of security for citizens.

In this context, units were activated with the participation of visible and invisible police officers, from various Services, taking into account the local operational plans and placing particular emphasis on areas and settlements where increased incidents of delinquency are observed.

During the above actions throughout the country, -18,938 – vehicles and -24,615 – people were checked while:

• -404- arrests for various offences

• -1,032- additions,

• –5.573- violations of the Code of Civil Procedure
• -135- immobilization of vehicles and
• -1- seizure of vehicle.

In particular, police actions were carried out in areas in the historical center of Athens, with the participation of police officers from the Sub-Directorate of Patrols of the Athens Police Directorate, where -437- checks were carried out, -73- people were brought in, -13- people were arrested, of which – 6- for trafficking, -4- for drugs, -2- for the Aliens Act and -1- for theft, while -12- violations of the Code of Criminal Procedure were confirmed.

In addition, the special operational actions continued in areas of Western Attica, which focused on the areas of Agia Varvara, Acharna and Zephyrio.

• –280– person checks and -149- vehicle checks were carried out,
• 46 people were brought in,
• –3– people were arrested for theft while
• 40 violations of the Code of Civil Procedure were confirmed.

Similar actions took place in the area of ​​Petroupoli, where -158- checks of persons and -129- checks of vehicles were carried out, -1- person was brought in, while -130- Code violations were confirmed. and 11 vehicles were immobilized.
Accordingly, in targeted police actions, which took place in areas of Corinth (Vrachati and Examilia), -39- person checks, -41- vehicle checks were carried out and -6- people were arrested.

Also, in the area of ​​Corfu, -175- people were ordered, -8- people were brought, -4- people were arrested, including -2- for electricity theft and -1- for weapons, while -80- other violations were confirmed.

Similar police actions were also carried out in Northern Greece, in accordance with the existing strategic planning of the General Regional Police Directorates, placing particular emphasis on areas with increased incidents of crime.

In this context, in areas of Thessaly, specifically in the Sofades of Karditsa, 26- people and -19- vehicles were checked, while -12- Code violations were confirmed.

Furthermore, in areas of Central Macedonia, specifically in Pieria, Imathia, Pella, Kilkis, -22- checks were carried out in companies receiving, processing and recycling metal objects, while -120- people were checked.

Also, targeted actions were carried out in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, specifically in Xanthi and Alexandroupoli, in the context of which -158- people and -116- vehicles were checked, -33- violations of the Code of Civil Procedure were confirmed, while -8- vehicles were immobilized .

From the Directorate of Foreigners of Thessaloniki in the areas of Evosmos and D.D. of Philadelphia and at railway facilities, a total of -113- people, -8- vehicles were checked, while -18- arrests were made and -1- person was arrested for violation of the Aliens Act

The Security Directorate of Thessaloniki in the areas of the Municipalities of Delta and Pavlos Mela checked -3- businesses dealing in old iron & metals, managing recyclable materials and collecting non-hazardous recyclable waste, -54- people and -49- vehicles.

Finally, a targeted police action was carried out in the Northern Aegean and specifically in Samos, where -55- people and -40- vehicles were checked, while -4- Code violations were confirmed.
