Call for a fight between minors in Oreokastro, Thessaloniki received, yesterday, around 10 in the evening, the ‘Direct Action’ of ELAS. The call stated that about 30 young people, holding objects, were tangled with each other in the courtyard of the Kontaxopoulei Sports Center.

Heavy police forces were called to the area, but when the officers arrived at the scene the episode had ended and the persons involved had left, while no injuries were reported.

Police searches followed in the wider area and eight people were brought. They were not found to be involved in the incident under investigation, but one person was arrested for possessing a knife.

According to politesoraiokastrou.gr, minor foreigners from another area of ​​Thessaloniki harassed girls who were in Kontaxopoulio holding sharp objects, a knife and a screwdriver, as a result of which a fight followed with a second group of minors from Oreokastro, with sticks and stones, luckily without some injury.

The police officers immediately started investigations in the wider area and arrested 8 people, suspected of the incident, while arresting a 17-year-old Pakistani, who was in possession of a knife. It is being investigated whether he was involved in the episode.
