The Pharmaceutical Association of Attica (FSA) plans to launch a special online application for the on-call pharmacies of Lekanopedi from February ’24, as stated by the president of the FSA, Konstantinos Lourantos.

As Mr. Lourantos explained to FM Agency, the idea for this application existed for a long time, as there were complaints that some areas were left uncovered, because some pharmacies may belong to a different Municipality, but they were very close to each other. “So we said to create a system, which has kilometer distances, between the pharmacies that are on duty, regardless of which Municipality they belong to. Now people will be given the opportunity to have a pharmacy near them, in the sense of course that it may not be under their house, but it will be at a close distance that they can travel to visit it, when they have a need . With this application, on-call shifts are regulated fairly and no one is on-call, for example, 4 times in a row at Christmas or Easter, which has happened to me as well. The plan will no longer come from the heads of departments, but from the software, with rules that will be defined by us from the Pharmaceutical Association of Attica”.

On the pharmacy screens there will be a map with a reference to the nearest on-call pharmacy and access instructions, while on-call changes can only be made for those cases provided by law and only with the necessary supporting documents, points out the president of the Pharmacy Association of Attica.

The application in question, which is then expected to be installed on smartphones for free, will be very useful for citizens, who often find it difficult to find an overnight pharmacy at a difficult time, concludes Mr. Lourantos.
