ELAS checks: 50,000 euros fine for a party at home – 265 fines for not using a mask

The intensive controls carried out throughout the country by the Hellenic Police Services for the implementation of the measures to prevent and limit the spread of the coronavirus continued yesterday.

Yesterday, Saturday, January 29, 48,438 inspections were carried out throughout the country, of which 17,422 at the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”.

A total of 359 violations were confirmed. At the same time, 26 fines were imposed for violating the anti-smoking law.

Detailed tests and results:

265 violations for not using a mask, etc. related infringements and 264 fines of 300 euros and 1 infringement of 150 euros were imposed, as follows:

81 in Thessaloniki,

32 in the North Aegean,

24 in the Ionian Islands,

23 in Attica,

22 in Western Greece,

20 in Epirus,

13 in the Peloponnese,

11 in Central Greece,

11 in Central Macedonia,

7 in Thessaly,

6 in Crete,

6 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,

5 in Western Macedonia and

4 in the South Aegean.

Since the implementation of the new measures (November 7, 2020), a total of 94,629 similar violations have been confirmed and 91,131 administrative fines of 300 euros and 3,498 of 150 euros have been imposed.

7 violations for restriction of movement by imposing an equal number of fines of 300 euros, in the North Aegean.

Since the entry into force of the measure (November 7, 2020), a total of 196,594 similar violations have been confirmed.

86 violations and 9 arrests for rules of operation of shops, private companies, etc. violations of the relevant legislation (prohibition of operation, non-use of mask, percentage of square meter per person, etc.).

In the above cases the following sanctions were imposed for violation of suspension of operation, etc. related infringements of the relevant provisions, namely:

In West Greece,

arrest and a fine of 5,000 euros to (2) owners of stores of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for the use of music,

arrest and a fine of 5,000 euros to (2) owners of stores of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for customer service in excess of business hours and 4 violations to customers,

5 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by owners, employees and customers of stores,

In Thessaloniki,

arrest and a fine of 25,000 euros to a store owner of a health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for violation of a suspension,

arrest and a fine of 5,000 euros to a temporary manager of a health interest store, imposing a 15-day suspension for exceeding working hours,

12 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by employees and customers of stores.

In Attica,

arrest and a fine of 5,000 euros to a temporary manager of a health interest store, imposing a 15-day suspension for exceeding working hours,

25,000 euros fine to a company and 5,000 euros fine to the person in charge, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for breach of suspension,

1 violation of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by a store employee,

1 violation of 300 euros in a store, for not posting a sign of the maximum number of people allowed.

In Central Macedonia,

arrest and a fine of 5,000 euros to a store owner of a health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for exceeding operating hours,

5,000 euros fine in a store of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for the use of music,

– 6 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by employees and customers of stores. In addition, 3 offenses, for not using a mask, by a driver and vehicle passengers.

In Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,

5,000 euros fine in a store of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for violation of operating hours,

5,000 euros fine in a store of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for customer service without the necessary certificates and 2 violations to customers,

5,000 euros fine in a store of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for the use of music,

7 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by owners, employees and customers of the store.

In Crete,

5,000 euros fine in a store of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for violation of operating hours,

5 violations of 300 euros, for non-use of a mask by store employees.

In Thessaly,

4 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by owner, employees and customer of stores,

1 violation of 300 euros in a store, for not posting a sign of the maximum number of people allowed.

In the Southern Aegean Sea, 5,000 euros fine in a store of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension for violation of opening hours.

In Continent, 7 violations of 300 euros, for non-use of a mask by employees and a store customer.

In Central Greece, 3 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by an employee and customers of stores.

In West Macedonia, 2 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by store employees.

In the North Aegean, 2 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by store employees.

In Peloponnese, 1 violation of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by a customer of a store.

In Ionian Islands, 1 violation of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by a customer of a store.

In addition to private gatherings and other related offenses:

In Attica, arrest and a fine of 50,000 euros to a homeowner for organizing a private gathering with the participation of (30) people.

Since the implementation of the new measures (November 7, 2020), a total of 30,598 similar violations have been confirmed and 2,966 people have been arrested.

Finally, 1 violation was confirmed for non-completion of the PLF (PassengerLocatorForm) electronic form by a traveler. Since the entry into force of the new measures (November 7, 2020), a total of 578 similar violations have been confirmed.

The inspections continue with undiminished intensity for the protection of public health.
