The Armed Forces are ready to deal with the coming wave of bad weather in the wider area of ​​Thessaly, in full coordination with Civil Protection.

At the same time, they are already assisting in the affected areas of Thessaly with 778 personnel, including 70 personnel from the 7th Marine Corps and 120 from the 32nd Marine Brigade.

In addition, they have already been allocated:

– 7 Armored Personnel Carriers (APVs)

– 31 general purpose vehicles

– 3 special vehicles with disinfection equipment

– 68 project machines

– 2 Bailey bridges in Kala Nera Magnesia and Stournareika Trikala

– 2 generators

– 46 boats

– 6 buses

– 1 Collection Vehicle (LEO STANDARD)

– 1 water purification machine

– 4 lighting towers

In addition, 11 helicopters have been allocated, namely seven Hueys, one Chinook to the 110th Fighter Wing, one S-70, one Super Puma and one AB-205 to the 111th Fighter Wing.

Furthermore, a tanker located in the port of Volos has been made available, while the Platamon, Malaki, Leptokarya and Skotina KEDA have been put on standby to accommodate the affected.

It is noted that all available personnel are to be further developed as required and in accordance with the directions and instructions of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection.

All of the “Xenokratis” units are in immediate readiness for intervention in camps in the area of ​​Attikovoiotia and in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, as well as 70 people of the 7th MAK with 14 boats.
