The President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, addressed the opening of the electoral center of the candidate for the regional governor of Western Greece, Spyros Skiadaresis, in Patras on Friday evening.

“I am calling you here from Patras to vote against the New Democracy ballots, which are the “long hand” of Maximos and Mr. Mitsotakis in all regions of the country. The self-government needs executives who will serve you and will not adapt to the New Democracy’s clientelistic plans,” noted Mr. Androulakis.

Referring to the biblical disaster in Thessaly, the President of PASOK-Movement for Change commented that “after Janos, there had to be a plan for unified water management and infrastructure projects in order to safely deal with similar extreme weather phenomena. Instead the argument of the Governor of Thessaly and the government of the New Democracy was “what could we do? Such extreme phenomena happen every 400 years”. After three weeks, we had the same again in Magnesia. They despise the intelligence of the Greek people. This needs a very clear message of voting against New Democracy and its candidates on October 8″.

Mr. Androulakis emphasized that “New Democracy proves day by day that it seriously damages democratic institutions and transparency in our country. Instead of going forward, we go backwards. Yesterday, a very powerful businessman left hints of corruption for a Minister of the New Democracy. And instead of going to the Prosecutor, she changes her ministerial decisions. This is not a European norm. Mr. Mitsotakis meets Velopoulos under the table, they achieve the required 3/5 agreement on the changes to the independent authorities, and twenty-four hours before the ADAE decision on the EYP and the illegal interception of my mobile phone, they change members to the independent authority to change the majority and undermine the decision. In which European country is this happening?’

Mr. Androulakis referred to the degradation of labor rights, the wave of punctuality that reduces the income of citizens and the government’s failure to invest in prevention regarding the climate crisis. “The New Democracy, instead of looking at the people, only looks at power. That is why on October 8 we are sending a message to New Democracy, a message of support for the Democratic Party, PASOK and the candidates we support throughout the country,” he added.

“Because some people want to play it as an alternative to New Democracy, I want to send them a message: If they think they will bring down Mitsotakis with TikTok, they are being laughed at. We will overthrow Mitsotakis with a daily struggle in society and we do not need any powerful interest by our side. Because the people stand by us with the hope for a better future” concluded the President of PASOK-Movement for Change.
