After Sevilla’s decision not to send representatives of its management to the official offices of “Montjuic” as a sign of protest over the “Negreira case” for which the Catalans are accused, the La Liga champions issued a statement, in which they inform that they are severing their relations with Seville, speaking of disrespect on the part of the Andalusians.
In detail, the announcement:
“The Negreira case cannot be used as a justification for such actions, as the judicial process is in a very early phase of investigation and Seville’s position clearly prejudges facts that, in no way, have been confirmed.
Furthermore, the court decision communicated yesterday does not in any way alter the factual and legal position of Barcelona in the proceedings. It is legally very debatable. It does not constitute documented evidence of activity and will be dealt with appropriately by the club.
This is an attack against the Catalan institution and an unacceptable attitude. In addition, the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, already intervened months ago in an extraordinary assembly of LaLiga and spoke openly about this case, giving all kinds of explanations and clarifications on the matter.
Sevilla’s action is also completely unacceptable, given that on the one hand it mentions the presumption of innocence and on the other hand it denies its exercise by Barcelona in the ongoing legal process.
Given this unacceptable and unjustified position of Sevilla, Barcelona considers all relations with the institution of Sevilla to be severed, unless it corrects its current position.”
