In a circular meeting, as announced, the House approved the proposal of the mayor of Trikkaia, Nikos Sakkas, for the temporary securing of unfurnished houses in the Workers’ Residences of Sotiras, for flood victims of the Municipality. The cooperation of the mayor with the president of DYPA, Spyros Protopsaltis, on the issue was preceded.

The agreement of all combinations of the major and minor opposition concerns the “Approval of the submission of a request to DYPA for the temporary concession of use without compensation of unfurnished apartments in the Sotiras workers’ housing complex for the temporary housing of flood victims”.

In Mr. Sakka’s presentation it is pointed out that the accommodation of the flood victims is done in hotels rented by the municipality, but “there is a need to find a more permanent solution, as the restoration of the houses of the affected and their return to normality will require time. After communication with the administration of DYPA, it was established the possibility of temporarily granting the use of unfurnished apartments in the Sotiras workers’ housing complex, which can temporarily accommodate families of flood victims who are in need of housing.”
