Sunday, January 30, the athlete of the Mountaineering Association of Acharnes, Hermes Theocharopoulos, left us for the big trip. Our Hermes, the baby who first learned to climb our track before learning to walk. He left at the age of 21 training on Mountaineering Ski in Tzoumerka, his favorite mountain that lived near him for the last years and that he wanted to keep in his arms forever.

The Board of EOS Acharnes, like the whole mountaineering family that met his smile, is shocked. We must all learn to live without this smile that warmed our hearts. But above all he has to learn to live without his physical presence his family and we know how unbearable that is.

We wish them to be strong and to always remember him as he was until the last moment. Strong and active. A restless spirit, who wanted to try everything in the mountains and nature…

Hermes, who grew up in Agnanta at the age of 21, was a great climber with distinctions, both in Greece and in Europe, with aspirations to participate in an Olympics.

Ferelpis, benevolent with an appetite for life and offering, was a bright star of the Agnantic society.

Disciplined, willing, kind, busy, with rich voluntary action in the associations of the village, he had all the elements in his character that composed a complete personality.

Unfortunately, his fate had a tragic end. In the environment he was used to living most of his life, the mountain, the place he loved the most, Tzoumerka, was to be the scene of his unfortunate loss.
