Wreath at the Heroes’ Monument Misiaulis and Cavazoglou the president of SYRIZA-PS testified in the morning Stefanos Kasselakis together with the head of AKEL Stefano Stefanou.

“Today we honor two AKEL fighters who were executed by Turkish Cypriot far-rights because they fought for the brotherhood of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots. Their struggles always inspire us” emphasized St. Kasselakis.

“Your presence honors their sacrifice and recognizes what they gave. The most precious commodity. Their lives for their country. And thank you for that” pointed out from her side the daughter of Kostas Misiaulis, Stella, who for years was an elected member of parliament with AKEL.

As noted in a related announcement, “on April 11, 1965, Dervis Ali Cavazoglou and Kostas Misiaoulis were murdered by members of the far-right Turkish Cypriot organization on the old Nicosia-Larnaca road, near Kosi.”

“It was Sunday, mom was preparing the food. We had roast potatoes and dad got ready to leave for the mission and we ran to kiss him and complain, nazi the girls to dad. “Are we staying home again? Won’t you take a ride?” we told him and he promised that he will do it as soon as he gets back. He never came back”, said Stella Misiauli.
