An update on the safety and suitability of the water in Thessaly, which was affected by the bad weather, was given by the Ministry of Health, as the relevant bodies carry out sampling every day.

As he states, in his announcement, 1,523 samples have been taken.

– In the Municipality of South Pelion, the water is deemed suitable for the local communities of Metochi and Syki.

– In the Municipality of Karditsa, the water is considered suitable for the local community of Katafygiou.

– In the Municipality of Agia, the water is considered suitable for the local communities of Palaiopyrgos and Omoli.

– In the Municipality of Pyli, the water is deemed suitable for the local community of Lygaria.

– In the Municipality of Meteora, the water is considered suitable for the settlement of Elafi Kastanias.

It is pointed out that if the water is deemed unsuitable for human use, it automatically means that it is not potable and cannot be used for cooking, food or drink production, washing vegetables and personal hygiene (washing hands, etc.). In these cases, it is recommended to boil the water for 1-3 minutes. In case of turbidity of the water, it is recommended to filter before boiling (e.g. with cloth clothes or coffee filters).
