The four 17-year-olds who were arrested after a peer complained that he received physical violence and threats with a gun to pay off a debt from a previous drug transaction between them were released on the condition that they attend a psychological program, after their apology to the regular investigator of Thessaloniki.

The case, according to the complaint, took place last month in the area of Tagarades, where the four minors attacked, in the middle of the road, the 17-year-old, originally from Albania, while he was returning from school.

The attack appears to have been recorded by a store security camera, while the audio-visual material is included in the case file.

The young defendants were arrested last Wednesday after an operation by the Extortion Prosecution Department of the Thessaloniki Security. They were charged with violation of the drug law, attempted extortion and grievous bodily harm, gang and, in some cases, possession and use of a weapon, and were held for five days in custody.

In the presence of their parents at the investigative office, they apologized one after the other today, presenting their own position on the alleged incident. As it became known, they denied extorting the 17-year-old and that the sum of 500 euros they allegedly claimed was not connected to a drug transaction (Indian cannabis), but was a loan product. Some accepted the beating, while regarding the threats that the 17-year-old complained that he received with a pistol, they apologized, according to information, that it was a fake weapon that they used to scare him. Regarding the improvised packages of cannabis (total weight 187.6 grams) located at the home of one of them, the minor involved stated that it was for his personal use.

With the agreement of the investigator and the prosecutor, it was decided to impose on them the reformative measure of attending a psychological program, twice a month.
