Prosecution investigation for forged certificates – The “intermediaries” under the microscope |

A large-scale investigation into the existence of a criminal organization that distributes for a fee fake certificates of vaccination, disease and coronavirus detection tests, Justice begins after an order of the head of the Appellate Prosecutor’s Office, Maria Gane.

The reason for Ms. Gane’s mandate were complaints that were published in a report on the television station “Alpha” in the last few days, where information is revealed about sales of vaccination or disease certificates at a cost of 500 euros. It also seems that for money citizens can be provided with negative rapid test results even from pharmacies but also with virtual results from molecular tests.

The head of the Appellate Prosecutor’s Office ordered the transfer of all the material from the television station to the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance in order to start a wide preliminary examination for heaps of criminal and misdemeanor acts in all directions. Thus, doctors, hospitals and other employees, pharmacists and people who seem to take on the role of “mediator” are being investigated by prosecutors in order to obtain forged documents.

The investigated offenses mainly concern the establishment of a criminal organization with action related to acts of embezzlement of false medical certificates, regarding doctors and pharmacists and the issuance of false certificates, which concerns the employees involved. Among the investigated offenses are those that concern accomplices or moral perpetrators or direct accomplices in these acts, while the violations of the measures against the spread of the coronavirus will be checked.

The Prosecutor’s Office will look for the testimonies of persons who know something related to the whole case and at the same time expects that there will be witnesses who will seek to provide evidence for possible circuits whose action is directed against public health.
