“Approximately 15 workers have already been found to have tested positive for the virus”
The number of active cases of coronavirus reached 32 in the Aniaton Asylum of Patras, where measures have been tightened in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus.
According to the president of the Board of Directors of the Gogo Karalis Children’s Asylum, recently there has been a flurry of cases of coronavirus among both the residents and the workers.
“Measures did not stop for the Aniaton Asylum all this time. The confluence of incidents that have been recorded recently forced us to stop the controlled visitation that was in force and now no one enters the Foundation. We also reverently observed the measure that all employees enter with a rapid test. About 15 workers have already been found to be positive for the virus recently,” said Ms. Karali.
It should be noted that all the cases had a mild illness as this variant of the virus affects the upper respiratory tract and immediately the Foundation is ready to administer antiviral drugs to the most severe cases, while many were asymptomatic.
Finally, it should be mentioned that despite the confluence of incidents recorded at the Aniaton Asylum, the situation is not comparable to the period of January 2022 when the virus had massively invaded the Institution.
