Another attack in March 2019 had taken place almost at the exact same point, very close to the stadium of Aris, at the junction of Plastira and Razi streets
The protagonist in a fan episode that occurred about three years ago, in March 2019, seems to have been the 23-year-old today alleged perpetrator of the murder of 19-year-old Alkis in the early hours of Monday in Charilaou, in eastern Thessaloniki.
In fact, that attack had taken place almost at the exact same point, very close to the stadium of Aris, at the junction of Plastira and Razi streets, at the stop of OASTH “Strofi Panorama”! Just a few meters away from the murderous attack which cost the life of the unfortunate Alkis.
The incident occurred on March 14, 2019 and even in the early afternoon, around 16.00. It started when a group of four people, in which the 23-year-old is accused of being involved, attacked a young man. A group of people who realized the incident then chased the four who started the episode with bats and sharp objects, injuring one of them.
The person who was injured during the clash was subsequently arrested after being transported to Papageorgiou Hospital for first aid.
Following investigations by the police of the Violence Management Sub-Directorate at the Sports Facilities of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, in September 2019, five people were identified as involved in the clash, two Greeks and three Albanians, including the 23-year-old arrested today, allegedly a perpetrator.
The 23-year-old has been referred to trial for the specific case of fan violence, which is pending.
