by

Bentley has released more details on its strategy for the coming years. The company is committed to launching a new electric model every year, starting in 2025. At the same time, the company announced that it will invest about 2.5 billion pounds to implement this strategy, with the factory in the historic headquarters of the brand, in Crew, to play a leading role.

Crewe is set to evolve into a “DreamFactory”, factory-standard, flexible, efficient, fully digital in nature and with zero environmental impact. It has already undergone significant investments and modifications, being an industry-leading certified facility with the brand achieving carbon neutral production as early as 2019. There, Bentley aims to have reduced water consumption to an absolute minimum by 2030. solid waste and other environmental impacts for each vehicle it manufactures.

The new investments will extend Bentley’s environmental footprint to all products and non-factory operations. Among the initiatives will be the expansion of electricity generation in Crewe, with the aim of increasing the number of installed solar panels from 30,000 to 40,000, over the next two years. In addition, the company is investigating the use of biofuels in cars in its fleet. The range of models will include luxury hybrid cars and will further consolidate this position, with the release of the Flying Spur PHEV in 2022, as well as five additional versions, which will be added to the Bentayga PHEV. Already for this year, more than 20% of Bentley sales will represent hybrid versions of the brand’s models.
