According to the Association of Importers of Automobile Dealers (SEAA), the electric market is growing steadily and pure electric cars (BEVs) now reach 5% of total sales, however, the resources (subsidies) of the “Moving Electric II” program ran out last month » with no further membership applications being accepted.

As announced, the Ministry of Transport is working on the next steps as a priority, in order to strengthen the transition to electrification and for our country to converge even more with European performance (see 21% “BEVs” in the EU last August).

SEAA fully supports the state’s effort to electrify cars, but at the same time it must be reminded of the huge problem of the aging fleet, the oldest in the EU.

In order to reduce the very negative consequences for public health, due to pollution, road safety and traffic due to old vehicles, the introduction of “clean” cars is unfortunately not enough.

Additional measures are needed to provide incentives for the circulation of newer vehicles in cities and strict technical adequacy checks on those in circulation, especially the older ones.
