Tomorrow the student parade will take place on Tsimiski Street and the events will culminate with the military parade on Megalo Alexandrou Beach Avenue at 11am on Saturday
With the raising of the flag on the White Tower, which took place at 8 in the morning, in the presence of the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the three-day festivities for the Patron saint Agios Dimitrios, the anniversary of the liberation of Thessaloniki and the national anniversary of “NO” began.
The President of the Republic was welcomed at the entrance of the White Tower by the mayor of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Zervas, and the head of GEETHA, Konstantinos Floros, and then they went up to the top where the mast is located.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Macedonia and Thrace Stathis Konstantinidis and the Secretary General of the New Democracy Parliamentary Group Stavros Kalafatis as a representative of the Parliament.
At 11 a.m. the official doxology will be held in the holy church of Agios Dimitrios, at 1:30 p.m. a lunch will be served at the Officers’ Club in honor of the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and at 6:30 p.m. an event will be held for the celebration of the day in the ceremony hall of the Aristotle University.
Tomorrow the student parade will take place on Tsimiski street and the events will culminate with the military parade on Megalo Alexandrou beach avenue at 11 am on Saturday morning.
The government will be represented at the events by the Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias.
The president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, will visit Thessaloniki tomorrow and Saturday to attend the festivities.
The president of PASOK-KINAL, Nikos Androulakis, will attend today’s events.
