Two foreigners were arrested as they were in possession of 500 packs of cigarettes, which did not have the relevant Excise Tax tape of the Greek State.
In particular, in the context of ongoing targeted checks carried out to combat the inter-trade of contraband tobacco products, yesterday morning, Wednesday October 25, police officers of the Operational Tactics and Action Department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate arrested two foreigners, against whom a case file was filed for violation of Law on the National Customs Code.
Specifically, in a coordinated operation that took place in an outdoor area in the wider area of ​​Kalochori, the two foreigners were arrested receiving, from an employee of a courier company, a box containing 500 packs of cigarettes, which did not have the relevant Special Consumption Tax tape of the Greek State. The duty-free tobacco products, two mobile phones and an amount of money found in their possession were confiscated.
The two arrested will be taken to the Public Prosecutor of Thessaloniki.
