Dimitris Evangelidemos passed away at the age of 69
Relatives, friends and colleagues said their last goodbye to Dimitris Evangelidemos, who lost his battle with cancer at the age of just 69. His funeral was held today at Metamorphosis Sotiros church in Chalandri.
Dimitris Evangelidomos was born in Karpenisi (1954) and studied accounting at the Athens Institute of Technology and Statistics at the Higher Industrial School of Piraeus.
He worked for 37 years as a journalist in Exormisis, Eleftheri Gnomi, Romiosyni, Nea, the radio station “Top FM”, as editor-in-chief for many years in Vima and the Economic Post, while he ended his journalistic career as the director of the economic newspaper Profit. He also edited magazines and trade newspapers, while he wrote three books.
He received the Botsi Foundation Award for “the successful recording of economic news and the objective information of public opinion”. He was also awarded by the Municipality of Karpenisi “for his great writing work and for his valuable contribution to the field of letters”.
He was a member of the Association of Editors of Athens Daily Newspapers (ESHEAA). He participated in numerous seminars and conferences as a lecturer and was active in social institutions and associations.
