In the melamine glass recall the Single Control Body proceeds from the market.

Specifically, the Western Greece Regional Directorate of the Agency carried out a sampling of a red No 59 melamine water glass, which is produced and distributed by the company EVIVAK SA, Thesi Romania, Oinophyta Viotias. It is noted that the sampling was carried out as part of the “Official Control of Materials and Articles Intended to Come into Contact with Food” Program.

From the laboratory control of the 2nd Chemical Service of Athens of the General Chemistry of the State of AADE, it was found that the glass is non-compliant with the requirements of the legislation, as a specific migration of melamine was found in concentrations that exceed the maximum legal limit for its use in contact with food and the stability of the material was found to be insufficient.

EFET requested from the company that produces and distributes the product in question, the immediate recall/withdrawal of the whole of the specific product from the market while the relevant checks are already underway. At the same time, it calls on consumers who have purchased the mentioned product not to use it.
