The journalist Giorgos Peponis “passed away” at the age of 69, from a heart attack. as stated in an announcement by the ESIEA Board of Directors.

George Peponis was born in Vrysoula Prevezis in 1954. After completing his high school studies, he entered the Higher Industrial School of Piraeus, from where he graduated.

His journalistic career started from the newspaper “Auriani” in 1981, covering the report of the Ministry of Agriculture. He then worked at the newspaper “The Opinion” and from 1985 in the newspaper “Profit”, covering the Ministry of Commerce report. At the same time, he also worked at the Ministry of Press and Media.

George Peponis was a qualified financial editor with knowledge and experience. For many years he was the representative of the journalists in the newspaper “KERDOS” and also in the Ministry. He was a serious, modest man with principles and an opinion. His relations with his colleagues were always excellent, based on mutual respect and knowledge that George would always fight for the respect of all their labor rights.
