“He was the love of my life but he hurt me,” Zozo Sapountzakis says in an interview after the legal adventure
Piraiki – Patraiki was, according to the Times, in 1962 a “model” factory for every Greek industry.
It was the first company to import diesel-powered machines from Germany, while among other things it supplied the Greek troops with blankets during the Second World War.
Piraiki – Patraiki has been operating since 1919 when it was founded by two ambitious young people, Christoforo Katsamba and Stamouli Stratou until 1996. In 1984 it was included by the famous law 1386 in the “problem companies” and nationalized (which happened to a total of 128 such companies).
Piraiki – Patraiki may have gone through “many financial storms”, but the most acclaimed was the one starring the Queen of the Night Zozo Saputzakis and the accountant in love from Piraiki – Patraiki Thymio Papathanasiou who was accused of embezzling 14,000,000 drachmas, an enormous amount for that time.
“I fell victim to an unfortunate love affair. I believed in a nice, educated man with personality and I loved him. I still can’t believe this man is an abuser but he wasn’t abused for me. I have been working since I was 10 years old and I have enough money. He was the love of my life but he hurt me,” Zozo Sapountzakis says in an interview after the legal adventure that sent her to court for the financial scandal.
