Marches for the 50th anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising are underway in Thessaloniki, Patras and Volos.

In Thessaloniki, a crowd of protesters gathered earlier in the afternoon at the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University, from where the march started. The march moves towards the center of Thessaloniki and will end at the starting point, according to thestival.gr.

The Association of Imprisoned Exiled Resistance Fighters 1967-1974 is leading the way. Dozens of student associations of Thessaloniki, members of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, left-wing organizations, parties of the Extra-Parliamentary Left, labor unions and people from the anti-authoritarian space are participating.

Along the way, the demonstrators shout anti-imperialist slogans for the Polytechnic, but also slogans of solidarity with Palestine, due to the war with Israel. It is noted that several demonstrators are holding Palestinian flags.

It is noted that the waste bins in the center of Thessaloniki have been removed by crews of the municipality of Thessaloniki, while the large shops have lowered their blinds, for fear of incidents.

Nearby, the second block of the long march for the anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising follows. It involves collectives, members of the extra-parliamentary Left, student associations close to this area as well as people from the anti-authoritarian space. One of their banners reads: “50 years is the beginning, we keep the memory of November alive”.

They are in progress and in Patras the two afternoon marches. The first is underway with the starting point at the Labor Center and the second will start from the Annex at 6 p.m. Trade union bodies and unions, students as well as the Municipal Authority of Patras participated in the march of the Labor Center, according to tempo24.

With the flag of Palestine and “bloody” children’s clothes, the march in Volos

The flag of Palestine, with children’s “bloody” clothes on it, will be the guide of the Polytechnic march in Volos. According to gegonota.news, with Palestinian flags and banners, the students participate in the march – for the 50th anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising. The march starts from the Dome of the University of Thessaly, where bodies, associations, parties participate.
