The procedures for the projects of the Recovery and Resilience Fund, which concern the primary sector, are moving rapidly as according to the data there is a strong interest on the part of the agencies of the agricultural sector and professionals in the processing of agricultural products.
His goal Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food is the immediate completion of the evaluations of the aid applications for all the actions of the sub-projects, which have been announced.
Given that the projects to be implemented with the Fund’s resources are expected to cover a significant part of the need for investment in the primary sector, modernize the way of production and provide important tools to producers, the ministry places special emphasis on meeting the schedules.
“It is a fact that in recent years, due to the repeated international crises, difficult conditions have been created in the primary sector. However, despite the difficulties, our government and the Ministry of Rural Development and Food are implementing important actions for the modernization of the agri-food sector by making proper use of the resources of the Recovery and Resilience Fund,” the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food told the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency. “Recognizing the great importance and the imprint they will leave on our effort for the overall reconstruction of the primary sector, the actions in question, as the new leadership of the FSA, under the directions of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and under Minister Lefteris Avgenakis, we are working with consistency for their implementation as quickly as possible”, added D. Stamenitis.
Intense interest
There is strong interest from the primary sector for the first sub-project “Innovation and Green Transition in Agricultural Products Processing”.
All the procedures of the first cycle have been completed (incl. publication of invitation, submission of applications, evaluation of proposals and issuance of decisions) and at the same time 52% of advance requests have already been approved, which translates into approximately 93 million euros out of 178,205,096 euros of the Public Expenditure foreseen.
Also, for the same project, the publication of the call for the second cycle has been completed and the application submission process has begun. As YPAAT officials told APE-MPE, “for the second cycle of the sub-project, the budget amounts to 65 million euros”.
Finally, according to the same executives, “a similar picture is presented in the rest of the sub-projects of the Recovery and Resilience Fund of the HYPAAT, which concern the modernization of the primary sector, green agro-tourism and the restructuring of crops, the genetic improvement of animals and the strengthening of aquaculture ».
