Targeted police actions were carried out throughout the territory the last three days namely from 17 to 19 November 2023in the context of the implementation of the Strategic Planning of the Hellenic Police Headquarters to deal with crime and improve the level of security of citizens.

In this context, units were activated with the participation of visible and invisible police officers, from various Services, taking into account the local operational plans and placing particular emphasis on areas and settlements where increased incidents of delinquency are observed.

During the above actions throughout the country, -45,744- vehicles and -61,078- people were checked while:

  • -689- arrests for various offenses and for violations of the Criminal Code,
  • -1,977- additions,
  • -10,544- Code of Criminal Procedure violations,
  • -264- immobilizations and -4- seizures of vehicles, as well as
  • -41- violations of anti-smoking laws and
  • -11- violations for noise pollution.

For example, in Southern Greece during the three days from November 17 to 19, 2023, police actions were carried out:

in the historical center of Athens, with the participation of pedestrian and vehicle patrols, where -552- person checks were carried out, -92- people were brought in, while -12- people were arrested, including -7- for trafficking, -3- for drugs , -1- for weapons and -1- for violation of food legislation, as he had made available for sale -60 kg of oil of dubious origin and quality.

At the same time, in Northern Greece, targeted police actions took place in Thessaly and Central Macedonia in accordance with the existing strategic planning of the General Regional Police Directorates, giving particular emphasis to areas with increased incidents of crime.

Specifically, on November 19, 2023, in areas of Central Macedonia, specifically in Halkidiki (Nikiti – Agios Nikolaos – Neos Marmaras), targeted actions took place, in the context of which:

  • -162- people and -145- vehicles were checked,
  • -3- people were brought in, while
  • -93- violations of the Code of Civil Procedure were confirmed.

In addition, in areas of Thessaly, and specifically in Larissa, Volos, Trikala and Karditsa (18-19/11/2023) excursions were carried out with the aim of preventing traffic accidents and dealing with the delinquent behavior of drivers in the context of which:

  • -1,233- people and -1,164- vehicles were checked,
  • -2- people were brought in,
  • -2- people were arrested for Code violations,
  • -392- violations of the Code of Criminal Procedure were confirmed. and immobilized -9- vehicles.

Targeted police actions, aimed at preventing and suppressing crime and improving the level of security for citizens, will continue.
