In a 48-hour strike action today 29 and tomorrow 30 November, the Federation of Hospital Doctors of Greece (OENGE), while nationwide strike for Thursday announced the Federation of Employees in Public Hospitals (POEDIN).

Tomorrow at 12 noon, doctors and workers are holding a protest rally at the Ministry of Health. The Executive Committee of ADEDY supports the two-day pan-Hellenic health mobilization carried out by OENGE and POEDIN.

It invites public employees to participate in the gatherings that will take place throughout the country to defend the Public Health System, with requests:

The demands of the mobilization according to the Federation of Associations of Hospital Doctors of Greece, among others, are:

  • “Doubling of wages – compensation of on-call staff.
  • Independent taxation of emergency services. Tax-free additional shifts. Doubling staff. Simultaneous announcement of all vacant organizational positions by specialty. The only requirement is a bachelor’s degree and specialty title. Permanentization of all contract holders without terms and conditions.
  • No dismissal of extension trainee. Not to merge, close any department, any clinic, any hospital.
