The Attica Taxi Drivers Union (SATA) has decided to announce a 48-hour strike for Tuesday, December 5 and Wednesday, December 6.
The announcement of a 48-hour strike for Tuesday, December 5 and Wednesday, December 6, was decided by the Taxi Drivers’ Union of Attica (SATA), with a unanimous decision of all factions, requesting the withdrawal of the draft law on taxation.
“The tax bill under consideration is a clear intention to destroy every form of individual entrepreneurship. It is a brutal murder of human dignity and the values that a democratic country is supposed to provide to its citizens. The financial staff of the government planned the occupational death of thousands of professionals, including taxi drivers. The taxi is in danger of extinction. Their intention is to exterminate us financially and force us to deliver our licenses to multinationals and large business groups“SATA points out in a statement.
According to the same announcement, the government’s goal is:
- The disappearance of small and medium-sized enterprises and the self-employed.
- The recruitment of 750,000 people who will staff large business groups and multinationals.
- The provision of new capital tax exemptions (reduction of capital accumulation and sale of listed shares) which are provided for in the specific bill.
SATA claims:
- The withdrawal of the tax bill
- The establishment of a tax-free limit of 12,000 euros
- The abolition of the pretense fee.
