Targeted police actions were carried out in the entire territory yesterday, November 29, 2023, as part of its implementation Strategic Planning of the Hellenic Police Headquarters to combat crime and improve the level of citizens’ security.

In this context, teams were active with the participation of visible and invisible police officers, from various Services, taking into account the local operational plans and emphasizing areas and settlements where increased incidents of delinquency are observed.

During the above actions throughout the country, a total of -21,609- people and -16,181- vehicles were checked, while

  • –733– people were brought in,
  • 282 people were arrested for various crimes,
  • 5,232 violations of the Code of Civil Procedure were confirmed.
  • –93– vehicles were stopped and
  • confiscated –1-.

For example, police operations were carried out:

  • in the wider area of ​​Western Attica, where -901- checks were carried out on people, -9- people were arrested and -88- offenses for C.O.C. were confirmed,
  • in the area of ​​Kifissia, where -44- checks of persons were carried out, -6- persons were brought in and -32- violations for C.O.C. were confirmed. and
  • in the area of ​​Agios Nikolaos of Chalkida, –8– person checks were carried out.

In the same context, special police actions were also carried out in Western Greece and in particular in areas of Achaia, Aetolia, Akarnania and Ilia, in places with increased crime, where:

  • -341- people were checked,
  • -6- people were brought in,
  • –4– people were arrested and
  • -24- violations of the Code of Civil Procedure, -5- for environmental legislation and -1- for trade were confirmed.

Furthermore, a number of essential controls were carried out in businesses receiving, processing and recycling metal objects in the Ionian Islands, the North Aegean and the Peloponnese.

In this context, in the areas of the Municipalities of Corfu, Chios and Lakonia, 28 people were checked and -1 violation of environmental legislation was confirmed in the area of ​​the Municipality of Evrotas.

Targeted police actions aimed at preventing and suppressing crime and instilling a sense of security in citizens will continue with undiminished intensity.
