Most drivers when they see one pink paper on the windshield of their car are sensible and the next time they want to break the law, they think twice and thrice for fear of the fine and the penalties of the law.

However, it seems that there are some who “scan” the calls and don’t pay any attention.

At least this is demonstrated by the data available to the municipal police of the municipality of Thessaloniki, where a driver in the city is recorded as having broken all records, as he was confirmed with 196 violations.

These are violations, of any kind, included in the Road Traffic Code.

From speeding to running a red light, illegal parking, double parking, etc., with the total amount of fines exceeding 11,000 euros, without being able to calculate the amount of surcharges.

Of course, those following on the list of violations in Thessaloniki are not far behind… The “silver” medal is awarded to a driver who counts 160 calls, while the third in the ranking order has only ten less.

The above calls have been stopped since the beginning of the operation of the municipal police until today and concern exclusively and only violations confirmed within the municipality of Thessaloniki, without counting others that – possibly – were confirmed in neighboring municipalities.

Of course, there are also drivers who, thinking slyly – and to avoid the call, choose to place an older pink piece of paper on their car window, in order to fool the municipal police.

Still others grab the call from a neighboring car and place it on their own windshield, again in the hope that they will avoid the fine, while a portion of citizens use disabled cards belonging to friends or relatives, making sure to cover the license plate number that is on the card.

The controls of the municipal police will be intensive in the next period and in view of the Christmas holidays, while in total, from the beginning of 2023 until November 30, the municipal police officers of the municipality of Thessaloniki confirmed 130,184 violations of the Code of Conduct.
