The gathered farmers lit fires on the National Road at the Meganitis junction, which escalated their mobilizations from 5 in the afternoon.
The huge flame, as seen in the photos, brought dense black smoke that covered the area.
As pelop.gr wrote earlier, the farmers of Egialia aim to send a message to the government for further reductions in their production costs.
Earlier, the Agricultural Association of Aigio gathered at the Hospital and headed to “Olympia Odos” and specifically to the Meganitis Junction, which they decided to “close”.
At the moment, the old national road Patras – Athens is closed. In fact, as President Giannis Bodiotis had stated, this exclusion can be short-lived but also “permanent”!
As he noted in pelop.gr, there are many farmers who participate in the mobilization, while others are constantly coming. In fact, he called on everyone to participate in the Aigio blockade and the residents of Aigio to support them. According to information, the farmers of Aigio decided not to open the old National Road Patras – Athens at noon.
Present at the mobilization were both the Achaia MP of the KKE Nikos Karathanassopoulos and the mayor of Patras Costas Peletidis.
At the same time, the Police closed the access to the New National Road Patras – Athens.
