Netizens urge people not to visit popular winter resort until Oliver’s killer is found, caught and punished – Hoteliers respond
For days now, Arachova has been trending on X (formerly Twitter) unfortunately for the wrong reason.
Thousands of users daily express their outrage over Oliver’s death – of the unfortunate, beautiful husky who died after being brutally abused – and they demand the immediate arrest of the perpetrator – who remains at large 11 days after the crime.
11 days and still nothing…
No one knows ,
No one saw
Nobody heard anything…
Well then …
No one should go to the fucking place

In Arachova, the police are continuing the search for the perpetrator of the heinous incidentbut most people don’t talk, fact which causes even more anger in society.
Today, in the top five topics on X, three are related: Arachova, Oliver, and #CancelArachova.
As Martha Poultidou, head of the Panhellenic Group against animal abuse, told ERT, “an omerta prevails in Arachova”.
“The fact is that from the beginning there was an oligarchy on the part of the municipal authority, which, while the Panhellenic government was shouting for five days, after five days it was willing to make an announcement” said Ms. Poultidou.
Embargo in Arachova
Netizens are expressing their outrage, calling on people not to visit the popular winter resort until Oliver’s killer is found, caught and punished in an exemplary manner.

The answer of the hoteliers
The scope of the issue and its appearance hashtag CancelArachovafinally provoked her reaction of the hoteliers of Arachova who responded to online accusations that “we don’t cover up animal crimes!”.
In her announcement the president of Arachova Hotels and Rooms for Rent speaks of a “heinous act” which has nothing to do with the residents and businessmen of the area” and for this “it is not possible to judge an entire society on the internet”
The announcement in detail
“For the last few days, messages of hate and bigotry have been circulating on social networks from animal welfare groups that they urge the visitors of Arachova not to come againdue to being tortured by one or more people in Arachova and later ended up, the wonderful dog named – Oliver, who was known to all of us and roamed the streets and alleys of Arachova.
This heinous act has nothing to do with the residents of Arachova and the tourism entrepreneurs!
It is not possible to judge an entire society on the internet and also in some online newspapers – blogs, for one or more abusers whom it is understood that, if we had known, we would have contributed to his/her immediate arrest. We do not cover up criminal acts against animals!!!!
With this logic, don’t go back to Salamis because there was a murder!
Also, all these years we have received hundreds of abandoned dogs from the animal-loving visitors of Arachova, which we take care of with the participation of the Municipality and the residents!
All the residents of Arachova stand against this incident and we all want the perpetrator to be found immediately and the truth to shine!
Yours sincerely
Kalousa Nafpaktitou
President of Hoteliers and
Arachova Rooms for Rent”
