In a post on Twitter, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, welcomed the news of today swearing in of Alexander Payne as a Greek citizen.

The 54-year-old director took the oath of office as a Greek citizen today at the Consulate General of Greece in Boston. Six years ago he had become an honorary citizen of Aigio.
He has been married since 2015 to Maria Konto, a 27-year-old Greek woman he met in Aigio.
The couple fell in love at first sight, according to foreign reports, with the result that Maria leaves behind her old life and starts a new adventure with her husband.
