A phrase of the 18-year-old to one of the organized fans immediately after the incidents that took place on Thursday night outside the Olympiakos stadium in Rentis seems to have been the one that led to the arrest of the 18-year-old who wounded the 31-year-old policeman with the naval flare.

According to what Giorgos Protopsaltis reported on SKAI’s midday news, immediately after the attack the 18-year-old bragged to other organized fans that “they threw it at the policemen” and in fact he himself managed to kill one.

The 18 year old

The police, for their part, following some information they had at their disposal, called one of the suspects at noon on Saturday who revealed that the 18-year-old had admitted to him that he was the one who threw the naval flare at the policeman.

After the authorities confirmed the information, they went to his girlfriend’s house where the 18-year-old was staying and arrested him. He then admitted his act saying that someone in full face gave him the naval flare and showed him how to activate it, without seeing his face.

The authorities also took his 18-year-old’s clothes from his house in order to compare the fingerprints in the forensic laboratories with the items in the possession of EL.AS since the 18-year-old was one of the people who gave fingerprints and DNA.

It is recalled that the 18-year-old was among the 424 arrested.
