7 people were arrested – Leader 31 years old who had shared the roles
Gang which cultivated and trafficked cannabis, but also ecstasy pills in areas of Attica, was dismantled by the police.
The ELAS operation took place on December 8 and 9 in areas of Atticawith the help of a specially trained dog resulting in the arrest of 7 people, including 5 members of the organization, charged with criminal organization and violation of drug and weapons laws.
The police made use of information about the existence of the ring and at the same time it was found that in diametrically opposite areas of Attica they had built in a house an equipped laboratory – a nursery of cannabis seedlings, as well as other places for the purpose of processing and storing drugs, so that they could not be detected .
A 31-year-old man acted as the leader of the organization and had distributed roles to the others. He was responsible for financing the organization, recruiting members and how they would sell the drugs.

A criminal organization was dismantled by the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate, whose members were active in the installation and cultivation of indoor cannabis seedlings (hydroponic method), as well as in the further trafficking of significant quantities of raw hydroponic cannabis (skunk), processed cannabis, producers of cannabis and ecstasy tablets in the wider area of Attica.
The deconstruction of the criminal organization took place in the context of an operation from 8 to 9 December 2023 in areas of Attica with the assistance of E.K.A.M. and a police dog, resulting in the arrest of -7- people, of which -5- are members of the organization, who are accused of – as the case may be – criminal organization and violation of drug and weapons legislation.
In particular, then from appropriate use of information, verifications and crossings of evidence, use of special investigative techniques and profiling of those involved, the structure of the criminal organization and the role of each member emerged. At the same time, it was found that in diametrically opposite areas of Attica, they had a professional infrastructure inside a house with a fully equipped laboratory – a nursery of cannabis seedlings, as well as other places for the purpose of processing and storing drugs, so that it becomes difficult to certify their actions by the prosecuting authorities.
In more detail, each of the members of the criminal organization had a specific role, as follows:
A 31-year-old man had taken over the direction and operation of the organization, as well as the allocation of “special” roles to each integrated member. He was responsible for funding the organization, finding and recruiting members, and providing the necessary equipment to grow cannabis seedlings hydroponically. In addition, he undertook the coordination of the supply, production, import, transport and further trafficking of the drugs,
A 37-year-old, who having the necessary knowledge of agriculture, he was in charge of planning, the cultivation and overall supervision of the hydroponic plantation, ensuring the smooth growth of the cannabis seedlings and the harvesting of quality and maximum possible quantity of cannabis, while he was also responsible for the storage of part of the money of the criminal organization,
Two more, a 33-year-old and a 34-year-old they lived in a single-family house maintained by the organization for the cultivation of cannabis seedlings and had a dual role, that of the worker-cultivator as well as the guardian of the area, while under the guidance of the 37-year-old they contributed to the cultivation, supply and harvesting of the plantation. In addition they were tasked with monitoring the facility and taking precautionary measures such as strictly controlled entry of members and their vehicles, and
Also 57 years oldhad undertaken the storage and management of the sums of money that came from the illegal activity of the organization.
As part of the police operation, searches were carried out in houses, places where drugs are stored and where cannabis seedlings are grown (cavatzes) and other places in Porto Rafti, Kapandriti, Nikaia, Acharnes and Piraeus, where in total the following were found and confiscated:

automatic battle rifle, submachine gun and -3- pistols,

-125- hydroponic hemp seedlings, from -70- to -120- centimeters tall,
hemp shavings weighing -640- grams,
hemp leaves weighing -120- grams,
dried mushrooms weighing -277- grams,
hemp oil weighing -1,320- grams,
sachets-vials-packages of cannabis seeds,
processed hemp powder weighing -1,000- grams,

-14- mobile telephone devices,
-2- precision electronic scales,
unknown substance weighing -360- grams,
electronic banknote counting devices,
devices – image recording – storage units,
Security cameras,
mobile phone cards,
portable devices (cryptocurrency wallet), portable memory cards and portable data storage devices,
deposit receipts and cryptocurrency transaction slips,
shipping slips for hydroponic products,
documents with handwritten notes on how to grow cannabis plants and handwritten notes with sums of money,
house and storage room door keys,
complete hydroponic hemp lab equipment (transformers, processing motor, light bulbs, watering mechanism, pumps-water tanks, ventilation system, air pressure devices, dehumidifiers, water filters, meters-ph regulator bags, press, metal cleaning containers, alcohol containers , pots, aluminum base, fertilizer packages, aluminum bags, metal hemp graters, thermometers, watering hoses, support base, etc.).
The illegal financial benefit obtained by the members of the organization is estimated at more than -800,000- euros.
The arrested, with the case filed against them, were taken to the competent prosecuting authority, while the investigation to verify the full range of action of the criminal organization continues in cooperation with co-competent prosecuting authorities.
