The 37-year-old owner of the three dogs that attacked the 50-year-old woman to death was sentenced to pre-trial detention, after his confession to the 3rd regular investigator. at noon last Sunday, in Neochorouda, outside of Thessaloniki.
Prosecutor and investigator unanimously decided that the accused should be considered a temporary prisoner.
The 37-year-old, according to what became knowndenied the charge of manslaughter, which is attributed to him, expressing his deep sorrow for the loss of his wife. In his apologetic statement, he allegedly insisted that the dogs made a small hole in the wire fence, about 30cm, through which they escaped, without him noticing the slightest. According to information, he pointed out that the dogs were trained and that they had not shown aggressive behavior in the past.
In particular, in his apologetic memorandum, the 37-year-old stated that he was shocked by the death of the 50-year-old woman, while he repeated that the dogs escaped the fence due to the piercing and deafening noise event, which were “tortured”, as he claimed, as a result of which they went from friendly to aggressive.
However, his claims did not convince the prosecutor and investigator who “showed” him the way to prison.
