To the noise made by the chainsaw during the execution of tree-cutting operations in the yard of 50 years old it reportedly paid off the 37-year-old owner of the three dogs the attack of the animals on the unfortunate woman, who was mauled, at noon last Sunday, in Neochorouda, Thessaloniki.

“The dogs when they heard the sharp, piercing and deafening noises of the chainsaw that lasted for hours felt great danger and tried to escape from the fence to face the threat and the danger they felt»claimed – according to information – the 37-year-old, during his statement to the 3rd ordinary investigator of Thessaloniki, after which He was temporarily detained with the consent of the public prosecutor.

According to him,“they were tortured by the noise and from being friendly they became aggressive”, described in the apologetic memorandum he submitted. “They broke the grid at the base of the fence from the side of the plot, they went out and headed for Elizabeth’s court which was at a distance of 100 meters, where they furiously attacked her. It is not Elizabeth’s fault, nor the gardener’s which was at the bottom of the garden” he is reported to have said.

At another point he argued that he never predicted that the dogs would escape from the fencenor could he foresee that they would attack a man, denying the charge of manslaughter attributed to him and expressing his sincere condolences to the family of the unfortunate woman.

“I had adopted dogs from the street”

Referring to the dogs, according to information, he apologized that the had adopted 2 years ago from the street, because they were abandoned and in bad condition. “But they recovered and I had them constantly cared for and well fed. They had their own little house and only moved around in the yard of the single-family house” he said, constantly repeating that until this particular incident there was no complaint that they were moving freely, nor did they harass anyone and above all they never attacked or bit anyone while regarding the witness statements regarding the conditions of keeping the dogs talking about vagueness.

Appeal against preventive detention

As the 37-year-old’s lawyer stated, speaking to the Athens Agency, his principal intends to immediately appeal against the temporary detention orderrequesting the replacement of preventive detention with restrictive conditions.

Earlier, the lawyer of the 50-year-old’s family appeared before the investigator, and filed a statement in support of the charge.
