For the thorough study and writing of the history of the Council of State, from its foundation in 1929 by Eleftherios Venizelos until 1976, the Greek Parliament, the General Archives of the State and the Union of Judges of the Council of State will cooperate.
The project, unique in Europe, is an important project for the study and recording of the history of the Court, which is intertwined with the great events that marked our place.
In a special event that took place on February 7 at the Council of State, in the presence of the Speaker of Parliament Kon. Tassoula, the leader of the Court and dozens of supreme judges, inaugurated the writing of the history of the Court with the suggestion of the State Counselor Panagiotis Tsoukas, who is also the president of the Union of Judges of the Court of Cassation.
Referring to the cooperation of the Parliament with the Court for the study and writing of its history, the Speaker of the Parliament stressed, among other things, that “the history of the Council of State is intertwined with political and public life and we must take care of this court for to retain its prestige intact “.
The President of the Court of Cassation Dimitris Skaltsounis praised the project of writing the history of the Court of Cassation, emphasizing that “the court stood up even in times when its existence was questioned”, while the president of the Union of Judges of the Court of Cassation Mr. Panagiotis Tsoukas referred in detail to the first President of the Court Kon. Raktivan and his resignation in the spring of 1935.
