A criminal organization whose members were involved in the trafficking of large quantities of contraband cigarettes was dismantled by the security of Thessaloniki. According to a related announcement, five people were arrested in an organized operation and more than 3,400 packs of cigarettes were confiscated.
Specifically, in the evening hours of 14-12-2023, a 17-year-old was spotted leaving an apartment building in the Stavroupoli area and during a check, it was found that he was carrying a total of 510 duty-free packs of cigarettes in a backpack and a plastic bag.

From the investigation of the police, it emerged that the specific apartment was used by those arrested to store quantities of contraband cigarettes, which they then distributed to other compatriots in order to sell them in various parts of Thessaloniki.
