ELAS proceeded to identify three people, 32, 36 and 28 years old, who are seen shooting in the air in three different videos published on the internet, with the 36-year-old being arrested yesterday after an operation carried out in a camp in Megara.

As emphasized in the relevant announcement, an appropriate investigation was conducted, which initially included video which was reproduced on a website, while later the police found two more on a social networking platform, where it was verified that the shootings were carried out with the same war submachine gun.

From the further investigation of the case, the details of the persons carrying out the above illegal actions were ascertained and a police operation was organized to locate and arrest them, in the presence of a representative of the judicial authority, with the assistance of police officers from the West Attica Police Department, the Attica Police Operations Department , of the Building Security Department, OPKE and DIAS teams of the Immediate Action.

During the operation, the 36-year-old was identified and arrested, against whom a case file was filed for violation of the weapons legislation.

From the total of 6 searches carried out in houses, as well as outside, a total of the following were found and confiscated:
– a purse that contained 4 9mm cartridges and
– 8 spent 9mm and 0.45mm shell casings.

As noted by ELAS, 5 of the confiscated casings were found at the place where the first video was taken.

In addition, it emerged that the three defendants, together with a 29-year-old man, were involved in a recent case of robbery within the same camp.

The evidence found during the investigation is sent for laboratory tests, while the arrested person will be taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
