With a post on social media, Pyx Lax bid farewell to Vassilis Karras, with whom they collaborated on the great hit “Asti na leye”.

The great folk singer died yesterday, on Christmas Eve, at the age of 70, spreading sadness throughout Greece.

The collaboration of Pyx Lax with Vassilis Karras in the song of Manos Xydos “Astin na leye” left an era and launched the band’s career. The song was originally intended for Stratos Dionysiou, but the death of the iconic singer put an end to this scenario.

So, they suggested it to Vassilis Karras who at first didn’t want to sing it because he wasn’t a rocker, but a folk singer, as he had said. Finally, Vassilis Karras was convinced and came down from Thessaloniki to Athens, making the recording after staying up all night and under one condition.
