Sadness in Heraklion for the death of Eleni Ktistakis, who had been fighting her own battle with cancer for months.

Eleni Ktistaki was a candidate for Minister. ND Member of Parliament and Minister Department of Quality of Life & Volunteering DEEP as well as a Member of the Board of Venizelei Hospital, while she was the sister of the Venerable Metropolitan of N. Zelandia, Mr. Myron.

“I was born in Heraklion, Crete in 1964. I am the daughter of Nikolaos Ktistakis, a retired pharmacist from Plora Mesaras and Marikas Magousakis from Ag. Myrona and sister of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of N. Zeeland, Mr. Myron. I have many years of experience in the private sector, having been an entrepreneur for many years. More specifically, until 1993, I was active in our family pharmacy. From 1993 to 2007, I developed an active business activity in the company GENKA KRITIS (Shareholder), in which I was also Public Relations Manager. The object of the company was the recycling of paper, the collection of waste and the cleaning of large organizations.

My marriage in 2007 with Telemachus Karavias, the Mayor of Ithaca, was the reason for my moving and staying on the island until 2009. In Ithaca, I was the editor of the local subscription monthly newspaper “ITHAKOS” as well as the online information page “ithacanews”. . I have contributed to various online and print media and organized many book launches. I was a New Democracy MP candidate in Heraklion, Crete in 2012 and 2015.

I was a regular member of the Board of Directors. of the Child Protection Center of Heraklion in 2012 for 2 years. In 2016 I was appointed Senior Secretary of Social Relations of the New Democracy Party in Crete. Today, I am the Head of the Quality of Life and Volunteering Department of the DEEP (NODE) ​​of Heraklion, Crete. Furthermore, in 2022 I was appointed as an alternate member of the Board of Directors. of the General Hospital of Heraklion VENIZELEIO-PANANEIO. I participate in every human-centered social and cultural activity with the aim of improving the services provided to citizens and defending their rights. I am an active member of unions and clubs with voluntary action.”
