Alonso… it was seen by a 20-year-old driver in Attica, developing a speed of 199 kilometers per hour, on a road with a speed limit of only 50 kilometers per hour.

The 20-year-old was moving in the early hours of the morning on Schistos Avenue and was spotted by men from the Traffic Police, who recorded the excessive speed that the young driver had developed.

The police statement:

A twenty-year-old driver was arrested by police officers of the Traffic Accident Control & Prevention Teams (T.E.P.T.A.) of the Attica Traffic Directorate, who was found in the early morning hours of 12-31-2023 on Schistos Avenue, Keratsini Municipality area- Drapetsonas, to move at a speed beyond the permitted limit.

In particular, it was found through a portable Special Electronic Technical Device (radar) to be traveling at 199 km/h instead of the maximum permitted limit of 50 km/h, resulting in a danger to other road users.

Furthermore, during the traffic control, it was established that the vehicle in question lacked a Technical Inspection Certificate (K.T.E.O.).

The driver of the said vehicle was imposed the prescribed administrative sanctions, while a case file was filed against him for Dangerous Driving.

The arrested person was taken to the Piraeus District Attorney.
