Walking along the gastronomically lively Barão de Tatuí street, in Santa Cecília, you may wonder if you are in the right place when you reach number 339, where Paradiso is located.

Termite marinated with rice, Chinese chard, corn tempura and onion pickles from Paradiso – Bruno Geraldi/Disclosure
The restaurant is located right there, although a decoration store can be seen in the glass facade. To get to where the tables are, you cross a room full of products such as bottles, poufs, fruit bowls, chairs and baskets — which the customer may later return to see.
You can eat practically in the same room as the store, with high ceilings and good lighting, a hallmark of Studio Bergamin, which opened at the end of last year.
The menu has a welcome Asian inspiration. Among the starters, for example, there are versions of tempura, gyoza and baos — among them, one with shrimp and the other with pork belly.
As a main dish, there is the house’s presentation of a bibimbap, with slightly spicy rice served with vegetables, chicken and a marinated egg. Another good option is Thai chicken, a marinated chicken thigh served with rice, vegetables, sweet and sour sauce and shisso tempura.
The alcoholic offer to accompany it includes wine, sake, classic cocktails, such as negroni, and signature cocktails – with a drink recipe with limoncello (a type of lemon liqueur) with tonic.
