A 53-year-old fugitive was arrested, who was literally “unearthed” by the police as she was hiding in a crypt inside her house in Gerakas.
In particular, police officers of the Athens Security Sub-Directorate located and arrested a 53-year-old citizen who was wanted as a fugitive, as she had a pending conviction with a sentence of ten years in prison and a fine of 56,000 euros, for the offense of facilitating the transportation of a citizen of a third country who does not have the right to enter the Greek territory.
In its announcement, the police state that “at noon on 6-1-2024, during a search carried out at her home in Gerakas, in the presence of a public prosecutor, the 53-year-old woman was caught hiding in an invisible shaped crypt within the multi-storey buildingin order to avoid her detection”.
In particular, the 53-year-old, at the beginning of 2019, attempted to facilitate the boarding of a foreigner who lacked the necessary travel documents on a ship that was in the port of Mytilene with the aim of going to the mainland, for a monetary fee.
The arrested woman was taken to the competent Prosecutor.
