Following their apologies, the three defendants were sentenced to temporary detention for placing an improvised device with gas canisters at the entrance of a building, which houses the Foundation for National and Religious Reflection, in Ano Poli, Thessaloniki.
They are two 35-year-olds and a 22-year-old who are charged under the anti-terrorism law.
The police are said to be members of the “Anarchist Action” organization that carried out “strikes” at least since 2016, in Thessaloniki.
They are charged with membership in a terrorist organization, explosion, jointly, using explosives, construction, supply and possession, jointly, of explosives or explosive bombs which may cause danger to humans, arson, possession, construction and supply, by pistols, explosives and explosive devices, for the purpose of illegally supplying groups, organizations and for damage to foreign property, using explosives.
Following searches of four houses, a pistol, cartridges and ammunition, explosive devices, as well as clothes and hats with the Hellenic Police and EKAB badges were found and confiscated.
At the time of the departure of the accused from the courts, supporters who had gathered for outside support, shouted slogans, while the police were on standby to prevent people from approaching the vehicle transporting the detainees.
